Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead
New Madison Theater company launches with biting satire of Charlie Brown
OUT!Cast Theatre will present Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead on November 6 through November 15, 2009 at the Bartell Theatre, 113 E. Mifflin Street Madison, WI 53703.
This 'unauthorized parody' features the Peanuts gang - all grown up! Bert V. Royal's sublimely rancid little comedy begins with CB’s account of the day he had Snoopy put to sleep, after which things for the introspective “CB” go downhill. Still trying to understand life's darker meanings, still plagued with his endless identity crisis, CB talks to his gang of friends to find answers to his many questions. What he finds is a world that is inhabited by a comic strip parade of misfits: a missing pen pal, an abused pianist, a pyromaniac ex-girlfriend, two drunken popular girls, a homophobic jock, a burnt-out Buddhist, and a drama-queen sister. Together, these factors all contribute–Good grief!–to this modern tale of teenage angst.
Dog Sees God is for Mature Audiences only and includes graphic language, sexual content and drug use: recommended for 16 and above.
