The Polish Heritage Club of Wisconsin will hold their 3rd annual Polish Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the West Side Club at 437 Cty Hwy M in Madison (behind Menards). The bazaar is open to the public and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is ample free parking. On sale will be imported Polish arts and crafts, handmade holiday ornaments, amber jewelry, Bolesławiec Polish pottery, books, and CDs. Traditional Polish music, costumes, nativity sets (Szopka), and Christmas trees (Choinka) will create a truly Polish Christmas atmosphere in which to start your holiday shopping. There will be demonstrations of Polish customs, including the sharing of opłatek (Christmas wafers), which will be available to purchase, and demonstrations of the making of wianki-girls' floral head wreathes. Stop by and try your hand at Wycinanki, the beautiful Polish art of paper-cutting. Santa will visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your children and your camera!
