'Satellites'
photographs from Jonas Bendiksen's seven years of travel around many of the lesser-known regions of the former Soviet Union (Porter Butts Gallery); 'Egress Immerse,' a sculptural exhibit by Joe Meiser endeavors to question notions of belief and examine its effects and potential consequences (Class of 1925 Gallery); 'Assorted Recollection,' through the use of layering and textures, Tyanna Buie creates a visual dialogue, allowing the viewer to understand as well as create their own visul narration (Lakefront on Langdon Gallery); 'The Americana Indian: American Indians in the American Imagination,' the installation aims to demonstrate the proliferation of conventional representations in popular culture and commerce, while questioning how the images work to convey a limited set of messages about Native peoples (Theater Gallery). Opening reception from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 25. Exhibits run Sept. 25-Nov. 10.
